The nature center is in a corner of my classroom which looks out into the garden. I got these logs to show the kids when we were talking about trees. They ended up being great seats. The logs fit well with the repurposed train table, but need trimmed a bit.

Found this cute log with 2 secret drawers at a Christmas Show. Any child would love to play with it. It makes a perfect place for fairies to hang out or a place to put special treasures.
While visiting the Red Butte Children's Garden in Utah last year we came upon the neatest garden ideas for kids. Here is a vine house with logs as furniture.
My uncle had a landscape business in California. One of his clients had this statue in their yard. When they moved they donated it to the library in Mc Call, Idaho where they had property. Visiting there one summer I snapped this picture. It reminds me how I used to walk on logs at the river when young. So carefree.

That vine house is ADORABLE!!! I love the logs as chairs in your classroom, too.
ReplyDeleteI've just found your blog and look forward to browsing through. Driving to work yesterday I saw a pile of logs on the side of the road and I would have stopped if I had room in my car. I'm hoping they will be there next week - I want to use them outdoors but seeing your pictures I think they work well inside as well :)
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful. I posted the Red Butte Gardens vine house photo on my blog, and plan on taking a trip up to see it with the grandchildren--and maybe build my own! Thank you.
